DBVFX_WhatMenWant_BLOG.jpgPerth’s Double Barrel VFX finished off 2018 working on Paramount Pictures’ What Men Want, which opened in Australia last week.

Directed by Adam Shankman and starring Taraji P. Henson and Tracy Morgan, the film is a gender-flip/reboot of the 1999 film What Women Want starring Mel Gibson. In this update, Ali Davis (Henson) is boxed-out by the male sports agents in her profession, but gains an unexpected edge over them when she develops the ability to hear men’s thoughts.

It was Double Barrel’s first time working with a major studio in Paramount, and company directors Nathan Stone and Stuart Campbell said the experience was a smooth one.

“In the end we completed over 100 vfx shots for the film, including a major green screen sequence,” said Stone. “All the shots were completed in house with a team of Perth-based vfx artists. We were thrilled to be working with Paramount, home of so many amazing films. We can’t wait to work with them again.”

What Men Want is currently in cinemas. Watch the trailer HERE
