ACA’s JumpStart grad program kicks off in WA

Advertising Council Australia’s graduate program, JumpStart, has officially launched in WA, providing students with an invaluable opportunity to see the inner workings of Perth’s leading ad, digital and media agencies and the roles that exist within them.
After a speed mentoring event last month, successful applicants were invited to join the nine-week program – made possible by the support of partner agencies Trilogy, Moonsail, 303 MullenLowe, Rare, Wunderman Thompson, Initiative, Bonfire, Gatecrasher and Marketforce.
“JumpStart has been the springboard for so many of Perth’s industry talent, with graduates going on to make their mark in Australia and abroad,” said Advertising Council Australia WA State Manager Melissa Vella.
“We are very thankful for the support of the agencies who invest their time, money and effort into cultivating the future talent of the industry. Its crucial that we promote, support and encourage students to embark on a career in advertising when there are many enticing opportunities in other fields.”
The JumpStart program officially commenced on 5 September with the first agency session held at Trilogy. An Introduction to Advertising was an extensive and professional overview delivered by Trilogy brand, content and strategy leaders Lisa Thom, Carma Levene, Ryan Vergone, James Gillespie, Rebekah Vinicombe, Abbey Clements and Jo Bulline.
JLL Senior Marketing Manager Bronte Macpherson, Marketing Executive of the Year winner at the 2023 Campaign Brief Awards, also dropped by to provide graduates with invaluable insights from a client perspective.
On the 12th of September, Moonsail welcomed students with an introduction as to what distinguishes Moonsail as an exceptional, globally-minded creative agency. This agency introduction was led by Matt Nankivel, the Creative Partner & Co-Founder of the company. Following this, the students were treated to an in-depth exploration of The Art of Exceptional Account Management, led by Moonsail’s Senior Account Manager, Renee Harris, and Account Coordinator, Evelyn Dalton, both of whom are graduates of the JumpStart program.
“It has been a great start to the program and we look can’t wait to see what this year’s students walk away with. Thanks to the passionate and enthusiastic agencies and their teams for their invaluable contribution to date,” said Vella.
