A world of musical treats in the Lolly Box

Lolly Box Music, Perth’s only home grown music licensing agency founded by Dave Tenni and Noah Shilkin is now open for agencies, production houses, filmmakers and anyone who wants a painless way to find great music.

Tenni (pictured left) said: “In 2018 we set out to create an independent music licensing company to seek licensing opportunities for indie Australian music creators and artists, while simultaneously removing the pain felt by producers and creative directors in finding and licensing high quality music.”

Three years later Lolly Box Music launched their Lolly Box ACCESS library with more than 210 Australian and international artists. The library uses AI technology to make it easier than ever to find exactly what you’re looking for. Every song in the Lolly Box library is pre-cleared, meaning that the company can licence both the compositions and sound recordings while working within client-defined budgets.

Of course, while creative directors can download and trial music in their projects at no cost, the reality is that finding the right music can be enormously time consuming – so that’s where Lolly Box’s music supervision comes into play.

Having previously worked as a company director, chief financial officer and management advisor, Tenni combines his deep experience in financial management, contract negotiation and legal oversight with a sophisticated knowledge of music licensing and synchronisation rights.

Importantly, in parallel with its own one-stop music library, the company has also developed a network of composers, publishers, labels, and sync agencies, who can help source music for a specific brief. Lolly Box handles music clearances and all the legal aspects of securing song rights, and doesn’t charge for working with producers and agencies on music searches. Yes, you read that correctly – you only pay music supervision fees on successfully licenced songs.

A recent example is the music behind the highly successful launch of the redeveloped Karrinyup Shopping Centre.

Lolly Box worked with Block Branding and Beautiful Pictures, licensing Adrian Dzvuke’s song ‘Darling’ for all media. The client loved Adrian so much they even included him in the commercial.

“An important aspect of this project was Lolly Box’s ability to provide a range of alternate licensing options to help meet the client’s core vision within budget expectations”, said Tenni.

Lolly Box’s Creative Director Noah Shilkin (pictured right) has over 30 years’ experience as a composer, record producer and sound engineer, providing directors with quick access to music editing capabilities. Shilkin’s composition and production skills also enable Lolly Box to commission songwriters, artists, and musicians to create new pieces of music for a specific scene.
