A first for an energy retailer: Alinta Energy and Marketforce help West Aussies Move Home

In a first for an energy retailer, Alinta Energy and Marketforce have worked together to launch a new moving service for Alinta Energy customers, and remove some of the pain and hassle associated with around 120,000 moves that happen each year in WA.

With little differentiation in the Perth gas market, Alinta Energy and Marketforce recognised the ‘home move’ as an opportunity to go beyond a smooth sign up and connection process, demonstrate that the company will go further and do more for their customers, and remove some of the financial burden and stress associated with moving.

Existing and new Alinta Energy customers can request to book the Alinta Energy Moving Truck and, if it’s available, will get the first 5 hours free (or if not can access a discounted rate with the removalist partner, subject to T&Cs).

Marketforce identified Adlam Transport, a removalist company who shared their passion and excitement for the idea, and over twelve months was involved in setting up the strategic partnership and initiative.

The initiative is currently running through online, social and radio, and includes a branded truck.

Says Jane Mills, general manager – sales and marketing, Alinta Energy: “This is an innovative and exciting way to go beyond a smooth sign up and connection process for our WA customers, and a lovely, simple concept – why not go the extra mile and help them move? It’s also terrific to have a keen partner like Adlam Transport on board, who share our aims and enthusiasm for the initiative.”

Says Paul Coghlan, chief creative officer, Marketforce: “It’s wonderful when a business is brave enough to invest in new and innovative ways to provide value to customers, beyond traditional comms. Moving from simply brand campaigning to creative ideas that naturally find their place in culture and trigger talkability around the brand. In this case, it’s creating usefulness through a relevant partnership, at a highly relevant time. Hats off to Alinta Energy for backing in a great and useful idea.”

Says Paul Adlam, managing director, Adlam Transport: “We are looking forward to working closely with such a trusted and great service company. Our motto ‘providing a better service’, is something we strive for every day. To be working with a company with their own strong values, great customer service, product delivery value is a pleasure.”
