As the juries completed another full day of judging, 50 talented young creatives arrived in Las Vegas for the 2022 Creative LIAisons educational program.

 

The day began with jury presidents Tim Hawkey, Collette Douaihy and Laura Florence.

Throughout their conversations they used examples of award winning campaigns, which translated emotions and creativity through health and pharma advertising.

“Everything we want is on the other side of fear”. Great advice to take home for Creative LIAisons attendees from the best health, pharma and craft top creatives.

Following this amazing panel was the legendary Dörte Spengler-Ahrens, managing creative director of JvM SAGA / partner at Jung von Matt talking about how to secure a pitch win, which resonated with many in the audience who ask themselves this question on a daily basis.  Remember: “Inspiration is hidden in the client’s original brief”.

Diederik van Middelkoop, has enjoyed a long international career as music director and music supervisor for ad campaigns and brand identities.

Currently, executive creative director and partner of  Amp.Amsterdam, he spoke about ‘Sound at the Speed of Culture’ and shared some of his iconic work.

Next up, was the Creativity In The Metaverse and Evolution jurors that shared some insight into the Metaverse. This panel featured industry stars: Ronald Ng, global CCO at MRM; Kaleeta McDade, chief experience design officer at VMLY&R Atlanta; Dave Rolfe, head of production at WPP and Hogarth Worldwide; Wesley ter Haar, founder / executive director at Media.Monks Amsterdam; Lewis Tutssel, head of EMEA Gaming, Creative Shop at Meta London and Jia Zheng, VP creative strategy at Activision Blizzard, Los Angeles.

Andrea Siqueira, executive creative director at FCB Chicago shared advice for success, commenting “A Good Idea is Never Finished.”

The day ended with an inspiring talk from David Guerrero, creative chairman of BBDO Guerrero shared from his home in Makati City with the live audience at Creative LIAisons.

Says Guerrero: “We may not always be brilliant, but if we work hard enough we won’t be crap either.”
